Elise Tecco
Aspiring Publishing Professional
About Me
I'm Elise, a 22-year-old recent graduate from Penn State University with a major in digital and print journalism and a minor in English. In addition, I just completed the NYU Summer Publishing Institute, which is an intensive 4-week program dedicated to learning about digital media and book publishing.
Ever since I can remember, I have loved to read. Whether I was visiting the library as a child or working at my local independent bookstore years later, books have always been a central part of my life.

The stories that I read during some of my most formative years have shaped who I am. I want to devote myself to promoting books in the most impactful way possible. My goals include thinking creatively and working strategically to inspire as many children as possible to read. I will accomplish these goals through my passion for literature and supporting books that promote curiosity, comfort, and a sense of wonder for all kids.

Because I fell in love with the stories I read as a young child, I want to instill this love of literature in other children so they can feel that same sense of comfort and joy I still cherish. When I'm not reading, I enjoy laughing with my family, playing games with my friends, and listening to music on my walks outside (as I pretend to be the main character in a young-adult novel).

I am also passionate about mental health. It is something I actively try to work on, and I would love to work in a space where I can make a positive impact on others.

I am actively seeking job opportunities within book publishing and digital media, specifically in marketing, publicity or editorial.
